Always Lunes is a platform dedicated to South Florida’s underground scene, curating and promoting diverse local events while building community and amplifying independent talent.

There is a cultural renaissance happening in South Florida.
Our mission is to uplift underground culture by fostering inclusive spaces that gather marginalized communities.
We want to highlight the historical relevance of the different scenes that have promoted culture in South Florida since before the 1980s all the way to today.

Hi! I'm Lunes Oña (he/they), founder of Always Lunes and a creative director, curator and documentarian based in Miami. I started Always Lunes in 2020 as a virtual magazine with Artist Highlights connecting over 130 artists nationwide during the pandemic. In 2022, I launched What’s Up? South Florida to promote local underground events, becoming a key community platform supporting local artists, promoters, venues and businesses in Miami and Broward counties.
I graduated from film school in 2025 & my debut documentary film Hijos de la Diáspora (60 min), about the latest exiled generations of the global Cuban diaspora, premiered in May 2024 and has screened in many venues and universities in Miami, Atlanta and NYC. Upcoming screenings soon.
