Always Lunes is a platform dedicated to South Florida’s underground scene, curating and promoting the best local events while building community and amplifying independent talent.

There is a cultural renaissance happening in South Florida.
Our mission is to uplift underground culture by fostering inclusive spaces that center Queer, Black, and other marginalized communities.
We want to highlight the historical importance of this culture that has been building in our own backyards since before the 1980s. We are living history.

AND A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I'm Lunes Oña (he/they), founder of Always Lunes, creative director, curator and documentarian based in Miami. I was raised in a Cuban household in Madrid and later lived in Panama, before moving to Miami in 2017.
Always Lunes was my art page in 2019, that I rebranded in 2020 to a virtual magazine with Artist Highlights connecting over 130 artists nationwide during the pandemic. In 2022, I launched What’s Up? South Florida to promote local underground events, becoming a key community platform supporting local artists, promoters, venues and businesses in Miami and Broward counties.
My passion for filmmaking began as a teen in Panama, leading to my 2025 film school graduation & my debut documentary film Hijos de la Diáspora (60 min), that touches upon the latest exiled generations of the global Cuban diaspora. It premiered in May 2024 and has screened in many venues and universities in Miami and NYC. Upcoming screenings in more cities TBA.
